Lions fall to Comets, end playoff bid

WESTSIDE -- The Gravette Lions traveled to Little Rock Friday to take on the Mills University Studies Comets in the first round of the Arkansas state playoffs. By the time the dust settled 48 minutes later, the Comets took the win by a touchdown and conversion.

The Lions went into the contest with 3-6 overall and 2-4 in conference records.

The Comets came into the Nov. 13 contest with an overall record of 4-6 and 3-4 in conference play.

Details of the contest were not available at press time. But the Little Rock-based Mills Comets took the win, 58-50, advancing to the second round of the playoffs.

The Gravette Lions ended their 2020 season.
