Council OKs lot adjustments, adopts budget

GRAVETTE -- Members of the Gravette city council passed two ordinances and two resolutions at their regular meeting Thursday, Nov. 19.

The first ordinance consolidates the two parcels of land at 604 First Ave. S.E. and 606 First Ave. S.E., present sites of city hall and the police station. The new address, 604 First Ave. S.E., will be the site of the city's new Taco Bell.

Council members also voted to accept the large scale development plan submitted by K-MAC Enterprises for the new business.

The second ordinance splits a parcel of land on Fort Smith Street S.W. owned by MDX Group.

Council members also voted to accept the 50-foot ditch easement on the property as shown on the accompanying

plat.

A resolution was passed declaring as surplus a 2012 Dodge Charger owned by the city and authorizing Mayor Kurt Maddox to sell it to the Sulphur Springs Police Department for $5,000.

A second resolution was passed, adopting the proposed city budget for the year 2021.

Council members also voted to appoint Braxton Sawyer to a vacant position on the Gravette Public Library advisory board.

Finance director Carl Rabey reported there were no changes in the financial statement or the bond funds since the Nov. 12 Committee of the Whole meeting.
