Gravette citywide cleanup in progress

GRAVETTE -- The annual citywide spring cleanup is being held this week in Gravette, according to Mallory Weaver, assistant to the mayor. The event, which is held each year to give local citizens the opportunity to clean up their homes and yards for the spring season, began Monday and will continue through Saturday morning.

Self-service dumpsters are available for use by residents living inside the city limits only on the old bus barn property at 406 Charlotte Street S.E. Proof of residency in Gravette or Hiwasse is required, so participants should bring their driver's license, a city water bill or other evidence of residency. Hours of service are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday or until the dumpsters are full.

No tires, electronics, flammable liquids, paint or coolants will be accepted. Users must be able to load items into the dumpster and should bring a helper with them if needed. No items should be placed on the ground.

There is no cost for use of dumpsters during the cleanup. The event is a free service offered by the city of Gravette.
