Homeschool meet and greet

A meet and greet for local homeschool families will be held Friday, April 30, at 11 a.m. The event will be held at Old Town Park, 110 Park Drive, in Gravette. All families who homeschool their children are invited to come, get acquainted and learn about resources available to homeschool students in the area.

Covid vaccine clinics

Ozarks Community Hospital of Gravette is now offering the Moderna covid-19 vaccine to the public for persons who are age 18 or older. The next vaccine clinic is scheduled for Thursday, April 29. Hours for the clinic are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Limited spots are available. Contact Melissa Bradley at [email protected] or call 479-787-5291 to reserve a spot.

Lions Club food drive

The Gravette Lions Club will hold a food drive May 3-9. Drop-off boxes are located in Austin Drug, Harps Hometown Foods and the Gravette Public Library. Donations of nonperishable food items would be greatly appreciated. Donated food items will benefit area food pantries.

Gravette Farmers Market

The Gravette Farmers Market is open each Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the open-air pavilion at Old Town Park. The market will offer locally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables, plants, eggs, jams and jellies, baked goods, and farm-raised beef and pork. Local honey will be available in about a month. A variety of arts and crafts is also available. Members of the Spavinaw String Band provide musical entertainment at the market most Saturdays. Anyone wishing to reserve a booth may call market manager Beth Patton, 479-787-3313. Members of the Benton County Master Gardeners will be at the market this Saturday, May 1, to offer informational literature on the Master Gardener program and volunteer gardening opportunities.

Pathway food drive

Pathway to Progress will hold its food drive throughout the month of May to restock its pantry at Decatur City Hall. Pathway will have five drop-off locations where people can leave donated items. These locations include TNT, Handy Mart, Decatur Medi Clinic, Gallery Cafe and Carlos' Meat Market. Items that can be donated include canned fruits and vegetables, canned meats, boxed dinners and other nonperishable items. For more information, contact Shanna at 479-586-0366.
