GENTRY -- The new splash pad being built in Gentry's city park is nearing completion and will, hopefully, open soon.

According to information shared with the Gentry's city council on Monday night, sod is to be delivered and installed next week. The construction team is also waiting on the delivery of artificial turf and may have to use sod until the turf arrives. The delays are reportedly connected to the current covid pandemic.

The builders are working on a water pressure issue and may have to install a booster line. According to information shared with the council, this is a common issue in splash pad installations.
