WESTSIDE --The 2021 eight-man football season continued for the Decatur Bulldogs Oct. 1 when the team traveled to Marshall to take on the Bobcats in a conference contest. But the Bulldogs' hope for a victory turned sour as the Bobcats shut down both the Bulldog offensive and defensive units to claim the victory in a shutout.

Early in the first quarter, a 66-yard touchdown run by the Bulldogs was called back because of an offensive penalty. From then on, the Bobcats dominated the entire 48-minute contest, scoring 54 points in the second quarter to take a commanding lead going into the break.

The contest slowed down a bit with the Marshall Bobcats scoring a touchdown and two-point conversion in the third quarter and a touchdown in the fourth to take the win 68-0 over the Decatur Bulldogs.

The Decatur Bulldogs have the week off but return to Bulldog Stadium in Decatur on Oct. 15 when the team squares off against the Brinkley Tigers in a 7 p.m. game.
