GENTRY -- In celebration of homecoming at Gentry High School, a parade was held Friday featuring class floats, football and cheer teams, and numerous members of the homecoming court.
The parade, which began at 1 p.m., traveled past the schools on Pioneer Lane and then north on Pioneer Lane and past the intermediate school before making its way down Main Street and then back to the high school.
Gentry High School's marching band led things off, followed by class floats and trucks and trailers full of football teams and cheer squads. Cars and trucks carried members of the homecoming court, as well as other local royalty from other pageants.
Candy was tossed to bystanders along the parade route, and riders on the Class of '82 float spread a little toilet paper along the way, as well.
Other activities of the day included an earlier pep rally in Pioneer Stadium and homecoming ceremonies on the field just before the homecoming game against Berryville.
