SULPHUR SPRINGS -- According to information received by the Eagle Observer, a vehicle that was apparently traveling eastbound on Stateline Road near Sulphur Springs failed to negotiate the curve in the road and drove into Butler Creek Cemetery over the weekend and caused damage to tombstones, benches and the grounds.

The vehicle is reported to have run over benches, narrowly missed a giant oak tree, and destroyed numerous headstones in addition to tearing up the lawn.

The accident is alleged to have occurred between Saturday afternoon and early on Monday morning.
