GRAVETTE -- Coming off a big win against the Prairie Grove Lady Tigers Aug. 26 at home, The Gravette Lady Lion varsity volleyball team returned to the Competition Gym in Gravette Thursday night to face the Springdale-based Shiloh Christian Lady Saints. The results were less than favorable for the Lady Lions.
The Lady Lions jumped out to an early lead but a few quick timeouts by the Lady Saints put them back into control of the first set as Shiloh regained the lead and maintained it for the remainder of the set. The Lady Saints went on to take the set, 25-14.
It was much the same in set number two. The Lady Lions put two points on the board first before Shiloh dropped the ball past Gravette's front line defense for its first point of the set.
Gravette maintained the lead for a short time before the Lady Saints powered back to regain control once again. Gravette managed to stay close but at 18 all the Lady Saints slipped seven consecutive points past the Lady Lions to take set two, 25-18.
The Shiloh Christian Lady Saints took the third and final set, 25-15, to defeat the Gravette Lady Lions in three straight sets.
