Gravette girls come up short in Van Buren

GRAVETTE -- The Lady Lions came up three points short during Friday's game at Van Buren, falling 46-43 in the nonconference game.

Gravette took the lead, 9-7, in the opening quarter, with Brook Handle hitting a pair of treys, Keeley Elsea putting in a 2-pointer and Dalacie Wishon adding a free throw.

Van Buren took the game in the second quarter by outscoring the Gravette girls 15-6. Though the Lady Lions battled back in the third quarter, closing the gap to four, 30-26, the one-point gain in the final quarter, 17-16, wasn't enough to close the gap.

Handle led the Lady Lions in scoring with 16. Wishon added 10 points with a trey and seven free throws. Elsea added seven, Alexa Parker five, Rachel Deihl four and Graci Moffit one.
