GRAVETTE -- Two Gravette police officers were honored recently by Chief of Police Chuck Skaggs. Officer Braxton Handle and school resource officer Josh Crane were both recognized.

Officer Handle received a letter of commendation from Chief Skaggs for a pursuit that he took over in March. The pursuit started in Pea Ridge and went through several cities before being terminated. It was picked up again in Decatur and came through Gravette, ending in Jay, Okla.

Handle gave excellent instructions to dispatch and fellow officers involved in the pursuit. He did an "outstanding job," according to Chief Skaggs, who noted that pursuits are extremely dangerous to officers and the public.

SRO Crane was promoted to the rank of corporal as a supervisor for the school resource officer positions. He was pinned by his wife, Tabby Crane, and Mayor Kurt Maddox.
