Verlene Couch, 86, of Siloam Springs, died Aug. 20, 2023.

She was born June 2, 1937, in Maysville, to Orville and Verda Austin. She married William "Bill" Couch on July 17, 1955, in Siloam Springs. She attended the Twin Springs Christian Church in Siloam Springs and was a member of the Ladies Circle.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Dean Austin; and a granddaughter, Bridgette Millsap.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Whorton of Gravette, Linda Cloud and husband Tim of Siloam Springs, Kay Millsap and husband Wally of Gentry, and Karel Hayre and husband Mark of Centerton; nine grandchildren, Krystal Jordan and husband Jarad, Kevin Hayre and wife Ashley, Heidi Nance and husband Jonathan, Courtney Millsap-Place and husband Dakota, Austin Millsap and wife Yochabel, Taner Cloud, Levi Cloud, Joshua Hatfield, and Lisa Hatfield-Baran and husband Joe; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Bryant Austin and wife Janet of Siloam Springs; one sister-in-law, Betty Austin of Pryor, Okla.; and life-long friend, John Vickers.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at Wasson Funeral Home.
