Gentry girls defeat Shiloh Christian

GENTRY -- The Lady Pioneers made quick work of the Lady Saints at Shiloh Christian on Feb. 8, outscoring the Lady Saints, 23 to 4 in the first quarter, 18 to 9 in the third and 10 to 3 in the fourth for a 62 to 30 win.

Alyssa McCarty and Kaitlin Caswell led the scoring in the opening quarter with nine points each. McCarty had a 3, a 2, and four free throws. Caswell had three treys in the quarter.

Shiloh Christian had its strongest quarter in the second, outscoring Gentry 14 to 11. Sidney Wyand and Kayleigh Randal each hit a pair of 3s in the quarter for the Lady Saints.

In the third quarter, Emma Tevebaugh and Brynn Cordeiro each sank 3s. McCarty added two baskets and two free throws. In addition, Caswell added a basket and Destiny Reinhardt and Cordeiro each also made free throws.

And in the final quarter, McCarty sank another 3- and a 2-pointer. Shelby Still dropped in a 2-pointer and Tevebaugh, Reinhardt and Lexi Osbourne hit free throws to finish off the game.

McCarty led Gentry in scoring with 27, Caswell had 14, Cordeiro eight, Tevebaugh seven, Reinhardt three, Still two and Kayla Philpot one.
