GRAVETTE -- Students at Glenn Duffy Elementary School took a little break from learning Friday, Jan. 27, to celebrate their 100th day of school. There was no formal ceremony or assembly to recognize the day, but students in some classes created hats reading "Happy 100th Day" and wore them throughout the day.

Many students dressed in costume for the day, wearing clothes reflecting how they thought they might look when they were 100 years old. Signs in the hallways read "100 Days Smarter," and one cafeteria worker was seen wearing a shirt reading "Been feeding tiny humans for 100 days. Can't scare me."

There was a general feeling of festivity in the air as students moved from class to class and entered the cafeteria at lunchtime. Just a few simple acts of celebration put a warm feeling in the heart and helped dispel the effects of the recent snow and cold weather.
