Rev. James Woolard, 85, of Sulphur Springs, died June 13 in Bentonville.

He was born March 23, 1938, in Watts, Okla., to Charles and Eva Mae (Greathouse) Woolard. He married Eunice (Misener) Woolard 65 years ago on Nov. 23, 1957. He built and pastored a church in Miami, Okla., for nine years. He built and then pastored the First United Pentecostal Church in Gravette for 47 years. In addition to being a husband and father, he was also a tool and dye machinist.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Ed Vernan, Ginger Lori and Randell Scott; three brothers, Manuel, Walter and Hugh Woolard; two sisters, Ethel Eubanks and Dona Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice; one son, Micheal Woolard (Monnie) of Sulphur Springs; one daughter, Carla Woolard of Sulphur Springs; one brother, Richard Woolard of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Wilmadean Sellens (Larry) of Dallas, Texas; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Rev. Woolard's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, at First United Pentecostal Church of Gravette (also known as Truth Apostolic Church).
