GRAVETTE -- The Lady Lions are off to a winning season on the softball diamond with five wins and no losses. Though some early games had to be canceled because of conflict with the state basketball tournament, the girls have since defeated Lincoln, Harrison, Northside, Springdale and Sheridan.
At Lincoln on March 7, the day Lions came away with a 12-5 win (see accompanying story).
In tournament play on Thursday at Rogers, the Gravette girls beat the Lady Goblins of Harrison, 5-3, and the Lady Bears of Northside,12-6. On Saturday, they continued their winning streak, downing the Bulldogs of Springdale, 14-10, and the Yellowjackets of Sheridan, 5-1.
The Lady Lions are scheduled to play in the Farmington Tournament this weekend.
