GENTRY -- The Lady Pioneers picked up a big 12-2 win over the visiting Dardanelle Sand Lizards on Monday, March 13, in the Merrill Reynolds Memorial Sports Complex at Gentry High School.

The Gentry girls scored 12 runs on 12 hits and eight Dardanelle errors in the nonconference game. Gentry took the lead early, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning, another three in the fourth, four in the fifth, and another in the sixth for the win in six innings of play.

Dardanelle scored two runs in the fifth inning and had four hits in the game.

Hailie Kreger was in the circle for Gentry. She pitched for six innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out five.

Cindy Barger and Iris Still each had multiple hits for the Lady Pioneers. Barger had three hits (all doubles) in three at-bats. Kreger also had a double and would have had another except for a failed attempt to turn an easy double into a triple. Alexis Lopez and Barger each had two RBIs in the game.
