Lady Lions come back early to down Lady Mounties

GRAVETTE -- The Lady Lions were down 1-0 after two innings of play against the visiting Lady Mounties from Rogers but plated two runners in the third and held on for a 2-1 win on March 13 at Gravette High School.

The Lady Mounties got their offense started when Ashlyn Hulett singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run in the second inning.

After singles by Paige Greer and Trinity Burnett in the third inning, Brynn Romine hit into a fielder's choice and Greer scored. A sacrifice fly by Laney Chilton allowed Burnette to score as well for the Lady Lions.

Brooke Handle was in the pitcher's circle for Gravette. She allowed six hits and one run to the Lady Mounties. She struck out six.

Chilton, Greer, Kelsey Pembleton and Burnett each managed a hit in the game. No errors were charged against the Lady Lions.
