Gravette Fall Cleanup
The city of Gravette has announced that the annual fall cleanup will be held the week of Sept. 25-30. Self-service dumpsters will be located on the old bus barn property at 406 Charlotte Street S.E. Drop-off hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday or until the dumpsters are full. People must bring proof of residency within Gravette's city limits to use the dumpsters. No tires, electronics, flammable liquids, paint, or coolant will be accepted.
Lions Club Block Party
The Gravette Lions Club is hosting a block party on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the pavilion in Old Town Park. The public is invited. Free hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served. Corn hole competition and lots of games for all ages, including board games, will be available. Drawing will be held for a handmade quilt and a banjo. All are invited to come out, visit old friends, meet new ones and have a relaxing, enjoyable afternoon.
NAGS to meet Sept. 25
The Northwest Arkansas Genealogical Society will meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25, at the Bentonville Public Library, 405 South Main Street in Bentonville. The program will be a discussion on the reasons behind your ancestors' migration. Everyone is welcome.
Pickin' Time on 59
Pickin' Time on 59 is set for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 28-30 along Highway 59 and the surrounding communities from Siloam Springs to Sulphur Springs. The west-side sale will include yard sales, garage sales, and booths featuring antiques, collectibles, and a wide variety of goods. Glow ride set in Gentry
The annual glow ride in Gentry is set for Saturday, Sept. 30, at dusk. Bicyclists, tricyclists and others on any form of non-motorized wheels are invited to meet on the north side of Gentry City Park before dark to add glow sticks and decorations and then join in the ride down Main Street. The event is open to all ages.
Highfill Farmers Market
A farmers market is open each Saturday in Highfill's city park. Advertised hours are from 8 a.m. until noon. There is no fee for vendors, and area producers are encouraged to offer their products for sale.
Lions Club Raffle
Gravette Lions Club is selling raffle tickets for a banjo and a homemade quilt. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Tickets are available at the Saturday farmers' market in Gravette and from any Lions Club member. The drawing will be held at a Lions Club block party on Sept. 23.
Gentry Food Pantry
GFA Pantry, located at the Gentry Assembly, 821 East Main Street in Gentry, is open every Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Clients are asked to call or text 662-727-5157 for an appointment or email [email protected]. They will receive meat, dairy, fresh produce, canned and boxed goods, and occasionally household/cleaning products. Clients may park in the parking lot and enter the building to get signed in and receive their goods. Each family can come once a month. There are no restrictions based on where a client lives.
Sulphur Springs Museum Hours
The Sulphur Springs Community Museum, located in the city park, is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first and third Sunday and the second and fourth Saturday of each month.
Bella Vista Radio Club
The Bella Vista Area Radio Club holds monthly meetings at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at ALETA, the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy. All radio amateurs and others interested in acquiring an FCC license are invited. The meeting location is at 3424 S. Downum Road in Springdale. FCC License exams are administered at 2 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month at the Bella Vista Police Department at TowneCenter and also at 10 a.m. at the Springdale Museum of Ozark History. Coffee with Elected Officials
Gravette hosts Coffee with Elected Officials from 5 to 5:30 p.m. in the city council chambers at 202 Main Street N.E. in Gravette. Guests are invited to drop by for coffee and to meet and chat with Gravette's elected officials, including the mayor, city council members, and the city attorney. The city council convenes at 5:30 p.m., following Coffee with Elected Officials. Upcoming Coffee with Elected Officials dates for 2023 are Sept. 12, Oct. 10, Nov. 14 and Dec. 12.
Friends of Library Book Sales
Friends of the Gravette Public Library book sales will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second and fourth Saturday of each month at the Friends book sale room, 407 Charlotte Street S.E. (old library building). Enter through the east door.
Sulphur Springs Library
The Sulphur Springs Library is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month. Drop-in activities are being held on Saturdays. The library has over 6,000 items available for checkout, including books, audiobooks, DVDs, games and puzzles. Membership is free for anyone with a Benton County address.
Kiwanis Meetings
Gravette Kiwanis Club meetings are held at 7 a.m. on the first and third Fridays of each month in the cafeteria at Ozarks Community Hospital and are open to the public. Members are asked to park in the back parking lot and enter through the back door. Breakfast will be provided.
Lions Club Meetings
Gravette Lions Club meets at 12:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center. Lunch is available. Visitors are welcome. Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the McKee Room at the Gentry Public Library.
