SOUPer Fundraiser

The Sulphur Springs Library will hold its second annual SOUPer Fundraiser dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the old school cafeteria. Once again, a basket auction will be a feature of the event. The public is invited to come and support the local library by enjoying a variety of delicious soups with all the fixings and bidding on the many gift baskets in the silent auction. The basket auction will be ongoing from Feb. 20 through Feb. 24. Anyone wishing to donate food for the dinner or items for the gift basket auction may stop by the library or email [email protected].

Gentry Food Pantry open Tuesdays

GFA Pantry, located at the Gentry Assembly, 821 East Main Street in Gentry, is open every Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Clients are asked to call or text 662-727-5157 for an appointment or email [email protected]. They will receive meat, dairy, fresh produce, canned and boxed goods, and occasionally household/cleaning products. Clients may park in the parking lot and enter the building to get signed in and receive their goods. Each family can come once a month. There are no restrictions based on where a client lives.

Project Prom Chili Supper and Bake Sale

The ninth annual Project Prom chili supper and bake sale will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Lion Arena. A variety of chili flavors, including mild, spicy and deer chili, will be available for $5 a bowl. A number of baked goods will also be offered for sale. All proceeds will go to Project Prom, a drug and alcohol free after prom event. Orange Out and Senior Night will be celebrated at the evening's game with Berryville. Get there early to receive a free tee shirt.

Radio Club holds Thursday meetings

The Bella Vista Area Radio Club holds monthly meetings at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at ALETA, the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy. All radio amateurs and others interested in acquiring an FCC license are invited. The meeting location is at 3424 S. Downum Road in Springdale. FCC License exams are administered at 2 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month at the Bella Vista Police Department at TowneCenter and also at 10 a.m. at the Springdale Museum of Ozark History. Friends of Library book sales

Friends of the Gravette Public Library book sales will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second and fourth Saturday of each month at the Friends book sale room, 407 Charlotte Street S.E. (old library building). Enter through the east door.

Sulphur Springs Library open

The Sulphur Springs Library is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The library has more than 7,000 items available for checkout, including books, audiobooks, DVDs, games and puzzles. Membership is free for anyone with a Benton County address.

Kiwanis Meetings held Fridays

Gravette Kiwanis Club meetings are held at 7 a.m. on the first and third Fridays of each month in the annex building next to the cafeteria at Ozarks Community Hospital and are open to the public. Prosecuting attorney candidates Bryan Sexton and Sarah Phillips will be speakers for the Feb. 16 meeting. Members are asked to park in the back parking lot and enter through the back door. Breakfast will be provided.

Lions Club meets Tuesdays

Gravette Lions Club meets at 12:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center. Lunch is available. Visitors are welcome. Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the McKee Room at the Gentry Public Library.
