The old pot-bellied stove from the Hiwasse Mercantile is displayed in the meeting room at the recently refurbished mercantile building. Larry Horton, speaker at the quarterly meeting of the Benton County Historical Society, pointed out the stove and related memories from some of the older residents who said the men of the community would gather around it to play dominoes and checkers.
