SPRINGTOWN — Though a hot afternoon, with temperatures in the 90s, the heat didn't stop residents and friends of Springtown from enjoying an afternoon in the well-shaded Springtown Park during the town's annual barbecue on Saturday.

Visitors to the event enjoyed barbecued chicken,listened to an area band, and participated in raffles, games and activities, including a water-balloon toss, a dunking stool, tractor rides, badminton and other games.

Many just enjoyed the opportunity for a gettogether with family, friends and neighbors.

Numerous gifts were given away by drawings held throughout the afternoon and evening hours.
