Gravette Church of God (Holiness) Revival

The Church of God (Holiness), located at 4th and Atlanta in Gravette, will be in revival from Oct. 28 to Nov. 2. The speaker is Eric Himeleck, the executive director of Victory Inner-City Ministries, Inc., in Indianapolis, Ind. There will be special singing nightly. The public is invited to attend the services each night at 7:30 Tuesday through Saturday, on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. For information or transportation, call 787-7312.

Gravette UMC Fall Fest

A Fall Festival will be held at the Gravette United Methodist Church on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Families are invited to attend the event at the church, located at 202 Akron Street NE, one block north of Main Street. Children will be able to enjoy a variety of activities, including a bouncy house and face painting. Later everyone can gather around a campfire. There will be refreshments and plenty of treats for all.

DHS Chili Supper

The Decatur High School class of 2015 will host a chili supper from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7, in Room 13 at Decatur High School. The menu includes chili, crackers, Frito pie, drinks and deserts, all provided by members of the senior class, family and friends. Advance tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children 3 and under, and $6 at the door. Proceeds go toward the senior class trip in June. For more information, contact Kathy Pannell at 752-3983.

Gravette High Events

Upcoming events at Gravette High School include Senior Night Friday, Nov. 7. Seniors and their parents will be recognized in a ceremony at 6:30 p.m. before the evening's football game with Gentry. The Veteran's Day assembly will be held Tuesday, Nov. 11, in the Performing Arts Center at 2:45 p.m. Refreshments for the veterans and their families will be served in the front lobby beginning at 2:15.

OCH Fall Festival

Ozarks Community Hospital of Gravette will hold a free fall festival Saturday, Nov. 8, from 2 to 5 p.m. in its parking lot at 1101 Jackson Street, S.W. The event will feature hay rides, face painting, pumpkin painting, games, inflatables and a petting zoo. Apple cider, snowcones and candy will be served. Temperance Union

There will be a meeting of the Northwest Arkansas Woman's Christian Temperance Union on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. This is a meeting of the local chapter of the WCTU, which is a worldwide organization that was organized by women who were concerned about the destructive power of alcohol and the problems it was causing their families and society. The purpose of the meeting is to educate about the harm that alcohol causes and to work against government policy that encourages alcohol and drug use. The meeting will be held in the home of one of the members, at 10896 Northfork Drive, just off Mount Olive Drive between Decatur and Gravette. Orphan Sunday

The Pioneer Church of God (Holiness) will be holding an Orphan Sunday event on Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. The event is in response to God's call to care for the fatherless. Gentry Quilt Show

Gentry's annual quilt show has been set for Nov. 14 through 21 at the Gentry Public Library in the McKee Community Room. Thanksgiving Service

The Pioneer Church of God (Holiness) will be holding a special service to celebrate Thanksgiving on Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. The teen choir will help prepare hearts for this time of giving thanks to God for His blessings. Sock and undergarment drive for school children

Siloam Springs Hospital Auxiliary, Inc., is hosting a new sock and undergarment drive for local school children. To make a donation to the drive, please drop off purchased items at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital. A donation basket is located in the hospital's lobby in front of the Information Desk during the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The deadline for donations is Friday, Oct. 31. Halloween Train

Museum

The city of Decatur Train Museum will be open from 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31 for Halloween night. There will be a short story at 6 p.m. called "Ghost Handprints." There will also be tricks or treats.

Trunk or Treat Event

The Church on the Hill in Gravette will be hosting a Trunk or Treat event from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31. Candy, caramel apples, hot cider and cocoa will be available.

FCCLA Coat Drive

Decatur's FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) is having a coat drive from Oct. 20 through Nov. 7. New or used coats in good condition can be dropped off at Decatur High School or Elementary School. Hats, gloves and scarves will also be accepted. Donated items will be cleaned and given to needy children and adults in the Decatur School District.

Fresh Roll, Cinnamon Roll Sale

The Billy V. Hall Senior Activity and Wellness Center, located at 1870 Limekiln Road in Gravette, is taking orders through Monday, Nov. 24, for fresh rolls and cinnamon rolls. Patrons are encouraged to order now for Thanksgiving dinner. Fresh rolls are available for $5 a dozen and cinnamon rolls for $1 each. Call 787-5950 to order. Orders may be picked up at the Senior Activity Center on Wednesday, Nov. 26, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Family Fall Festival

Heritage Baptist Church is hosting a Family Fall Festival, Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for children ages birth to sixth grade. Families are welcome. There will be lots of fun games, a cake walk and tons of candy. No scary costumes, please.

Church Fall Festival

Harvest Baptist Church of Gravette is planning its annual fall festival and chili cook off from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, in the parking lot of Harvest Baptist Church, located 2 miles south of Gravette on Arkansas Highway 59. Food, games, face painting, bounce houses, music and lots of fun are planned for the entire family. There is no cost to enter or participate in the fall festival (with the exception of the chili cook off). Chili contestants are asked to have their completed chili, along with their $5 entry fee, at the main entrance of the church no later than 4 p.m. All money from the entry fees will be used for the grand prize chili cook off winner. Fall Concert

The Main Siloam Music Festival fall concert, "A Note's Embrace," is just about here. Forty-five of some of the top area musicians will be participating. As always, there will be lots of variety: country, barbershop, classical, religious, jazz, pop, and Broadway. To continue honoring and promoting our young musicians pursuing a career in music, Christopher Barnett, a 2011 SSHS John Philip Sousa band award graduate, will be performing an oboe concerto with a decorated chamber orchestra. The concert will be at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Community Christian Fellowship Church, 525 S. Lincoln St. The concert is free. Donations are requested. New Saturday Hours

The Gravette Public Library is now open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Weekday hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Crafts and More

Maysville Extension Homemakers Club is sponsoring a "Crafts and More" event Nov. 1 at the Maysville Community Building. Vendors may rent a booth to sell items for only $10. To reserve a booth, call Gwen Singleton, 479-291-4520.

Sulphur Springs Library

The Sulphur Springs Public Library, located at 512 Black Street, is now open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m. with volunteer help. Library membership cards for an individual may be purchased for $2 and a family card is $5. Phone 479-298-3753 for further information.

Men's Fellowship

Mason Valley Baptist

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Mason Valley Baptist Church Activity Center are held at 7 p.m. the second Friday of each month. The church is located on Arkansas Highway 12 midway between Highfill and Vaughn.

Church Singing

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist in Sulphur Springs holds a singing service every fourth Saturday of the month, starting at 6:30 p.m. A potluck dinner follows. For more information, call Jheri Roberts, the pastor, at 752-7082.

Gravette Lions Club

Gravette Lions Club meets at 1 p.m. on the first and the third Tuesday of every month at the Billy V. Hall Wellness and Activity Center on Limekiln Road in Gravette. Lunch is available for anyone interested. New members are welcome.

Gentry History Book

Stories and old photos are being sought from Gentry residents, past and present, for the new Gentry 120-year history book being prepared for publication. Stories about individuals, families and businesses are being sought. Suggested length is 300 words and the name of the submitter should be included at the end of each story. Items may be sent to Gentry History Book, P.O. Box 642, Gentry, AR 72734. Deadline for submissions is Nov. 1. The Gentry history books may be pre-ordered for $65 using the form included on the Gentry Chamber of Commerce website.

Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gentry Lions Club

Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month in the McKee Community Room, in the Gentry Public Library, on Main Street at N. Collins Ave. New members and visitors are welcome.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m., the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW Meetings

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is three miles east of Decatur Arkansas Highway 102 and right on Tilly's Hill Road.
