Springtown approves new trash contract

SPRINGTOWN -- Springtown entered into a new trash contract, adopted a budget for 2016 and amended the town's building permit ordinance at its December town council meeting.

According to information released by Shane Bauman, Springtown's recorder and treasurer, the council, at its Dec. 8 meeting, approved a contract with Republic Services for its trash pickup. The new service will begin on Jan. 1.

A resolution was passed, adopting a town budget for 2016.

Passed, with an emergency clause, was an ordinance which clarified language and updated fees in the town's code regulating building permits.

The town's next regularly scheduled council meeting is at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Springtown's town hall.
