SILOAM SPRINGS -- With the dogs days of summer still in full swing, members of the Decatur Athletic Department took a group of middle and high school sports students on a short trip to Siloam Springs for a night of fun before the sports season begins in late August.

About 40 coaches, athletes and family members gathered at the Family Aquatic Center Aug. 9 for two hours of sliding, diving and cooling fun under the hot sun.

During the event, the kids and guest were treated to hot dogs, chips and juice as they enjoyed the many amenities the aquatic center had to offer.

A few of the younger students had the chance to meet some of the Decatur coaches, including James Ortiz, football; Tajhe Turner, volleyball; and Ladale Clayton, cheer team.
