Town Hall Meetings set

Benton County will host town hall meetings ahead of the countywide election on March 12. These meetings will focus on the upcoming 1/8 cent sales tax vote for funding the Benton County Circuit Courts facility. They will include a presentation on the courthouse history, current challenges, proposed solutions, funding of the project, early voting dates and locations. All citizens are invited to attend the town hall meetings. The next meeting to be held on the west side of Benton County will be the Siloam Springs Town Hall Meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 4, at the Siloam Springs Library, 205 E. Gravette Chamber

Plans are being finalized for the sixth annual Gravette Chamber of Commerce community banquet, scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7. The event will be held at Horton Farms, southeast of Gravette at 15799 Bethlehem Road. This year's banquet theme is "Havana Nights." Tickets are being sold now and are available at Arvest Bank, Grand Savings Bank, Bank of Gravett and Ozarks Community Hospital. Cost is $50 per ticket or $350 for a table of eight.

The Gentry Pioneer Pride Band is raising money by selling Blue & Gold products to support its 2019 Concert Band Assessment season. Blue & Gold products include sausage, chicken tenderloin fritters and thick-sliced bacon. These products may be purchased from Feb 4 to 15. Gravette Library seed swap

The Gravette Public Library will host its second annual seed swap from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9. Area gardeners are invited to bring vegetable, herb and flower seed samples in envelopes or bags labeled with the common name and variety, as well as any special growing instructions such as sun and soil moisture requirements and planting depths. Please do not bring any GMO seeds or seeds collected from hybrid plants. This event is free and will be held at the library, located at 119 Main Street S.E.

'Taste of Gravette'

The Gravette Lions Club will hold a "Taste of Gravette" crockpot feed from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Gravette Civic Center. Guests will be able to sample a variety of dishes cooked in crockpots, such as chicken and dumplings, a variety of chilis, several soups, including broccoli cheese and vegetable beef, and breads. Cost for the meal of crockpot dishes, drink and dessert will be $5. All proceeds will go for Lions Club service projects in the community.

First Baptist Church, located at 213 E. Roller Avenue in Decatur, holds a community food pantry on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. For more information, contact the church at 479-752-3514.

TOPS meet in Gentry

Gentry TOPS AR113, a nonprofit group which promotes healthy weight loss, meets every Monday at the First Christian Church Fellowship Room, Second and Giles, with a weigh in at 2:15 p.m. and the meeting at 3 p.m. There is a small fee to join but the first meeting is free.

The Decatur United Methodist Church Food Pantry is open the first and third Thursday evening of each month from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and offers food boxes to Decatur residents. All that is needed is a valid identification, a utility bill or piece of mail showing an address in the 72722 ZIP code area. Also available is a USDA commodity program to residents of Decatur and other communities without a commodity program. The commodity program requires income information. GFA food pantry

The GFA food pantry at the First Assembly of God in Gentry is open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The church partners with the NWA Food Bank and Rural Compassion to receive food to be given away, including canned goods, fresh vegetables, bread, milk and dairy products, eggs and meats. Other items such as toilet paper, shampoo, cleaning products and baby supplies are also available as supplies last. Clients are asked to call for an appointment. Mobile Food Bank adds Gravette stop

The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank is adding a stop in Gravette, at 10 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Billy V. Hall Complex. The stop will be the eleventh mobile pantry in Northwest Arkansas. Food boxes, as well as fruits, vegetables and protein, will be distributed to up to 90 households.

The Gravette Lions Club meets at 12:15 p.m., the first and third Tuesday of the month at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity and Wellness Center, 1870 Limekiln Road, in Gravette. The Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the McKee Community Room in Gentry Public Library. New members are welcome and invited.

BV Amateur Radio Club

The Bella Vista Amateur Radio Club holds its monthly meetings at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Highland Christian Church in Bella Vista. For anyone interested in acquiring an amateur radio license, the club also administers FCC exams at 2 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month. All meetings and exams are held at Highland Christian Church, located at 1500 Forest Hills Blvd. in Bella Vista. Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m. the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.
