GENTRY -- Tuesday, Feb. 5, the Pioneer basketball team (8-14) hosted the Farmington Cardinals (17-7).

The Pioneers didn't play a bad first quarter defensively, holding the Cardinals to just nine points. However, Gentry struggled on offense and was only able to score four points.

The Pioneers were defeated by a final score of 55-32, which knocked their conference record down to 1-10.

After the game, senior Dylan Kilgore said, "We had a hard time scoring all night. They played pretty good defense and we didn't get many open shots, but we still didn't execute like we should have."

Gentry's next game was on the road against Prairie Grove on Friday, Feb. 8. The Pioneers brought home a 39-35 victory to close out their regular season.

The district tournament started Monday at Harrison. The Pioneers defeated the Berryville Bobcats, 65-54.
