Pioneers bring home big win over Tigers

GENTRY -- The Pioneers brought home a big win on Friday night after traveling to Green Forest to face the Tigers.

The Pioneers scored single touchdowns in the first three quarters, and two in the fourth, for the 34-0 win.

The ball was carried across the goal line by Brandon Atwood, Charlie Reams, Brennan Crosby and twice by William Pyburn. Gentry's extra points came on two-point conversions by Seiren Reding and Ross Wilmoth.

The Pioneers picked off three Tiger passes during the game and recovered two Tiger fumbles.

Gentry had 276 rushing yards and another 115 yards through the air on Friday. Green Forest had a total of 225 offensive yards.

Atwood had 81 rushing yards. Zach Zarnagan had 61 rushing yards, 45 passing yards, 22 kickoff return yards and another five on punt returns, for a total of 133. Atwood was 8 for 14 through the air.

Jonah Summers led in tackles with seven solo tackles and two assists. Azariah Wood was credited with two sacks.

Emmi Hays came up short on her only PAT attempt.

The Pioneers are scheduled to host Shiloh Christian on Friday, with kickoff at 7 p.m.
