GENTRY -- The Billies ended the season for the Pioneers at Monticello on Friday, winning the playoff game, 36-26. Monticello jumped out to an early 16-0 lead in the first quarter, and Gentry never recovered.

Doerian Allen raced 56 yards for Monticello's first score, then Stran Smith hit Nick Smith with a 60-yard touchdown pass to give the Billies (7-4) a 16-0 lead as Zackez Whitmore added both two-point conversion runs.

Gentry (4-7) was able to get within 22-20 on William Pyburn's 5-yard touchdown run with 35 seconds before halftime but missed the tying two-point conversion. The Pioneers answered a Monticello touchdown when Zach Jarnagan hit with a 15-yard touchdown pass and made it a 28-26 game, but the Pioneers missed a chance to tie the game with a two-point conversion again.

Monticello then closed out the scoring with Trenton Stewart's 16-yard run and Allen's two-point conversion run.
