Mona Fern Stidham Brinkley

Mona Fern Stidham Brinkley, 85, of Gravette, died Jan. 10, 2021.

She was born Nov. 25, 1935, in McKinley Township, Caddo County, Okla., to Delmas Luther Dee and Edith Elsie "Brown" Stidham. She married David Brinkley on April 25, 1952, in Clovis, N.M. She was a charter board member of the Georgia Flat Cemetery Association. Her hobbies were gardening, canning and needlework. She loved her roses.

She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and four brothers, Harlon (Big), Earlon (Lid), Billy Joe and Lawrence.

She is survived by five children, Laqueda and husband John "Bud" Roquemore, William Brinkley of Gravette, Dave and Rhonda "Buffer" Brinkley of Bella Vista, Freda and husband Charles Willingham of Springdale, and Ron and Katie "Echols" Brinkley of Rogers; grandchildren, Charles Dee, Shawn, Cody, Johnny Buffer, Josh Willingham, Ashley and McKenzie Brinkley; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Carl and Ann Stidham of Brawley, Calif., David and Diana Stidham of Hiwasse, Raymond and Jeannie Stidham of Neosho, Mo., Islamae Arnold, Kay Russow, Doris and husband John McDougal, Sue and husband Darrell, all of Gravette, Edith Hudson of Gentry, Betty and husband Gene Hendricks of Quitman.

A graveside service was held Friday, Jan. 15, at the Georgia Flat Cemetery west of Gravette, with Pastor Jheri Roberts officiating. Arrangements were by Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Claud 'Jim' Farmer

Claud "Jim" Farmer, 88, of Gentry, died Jan. 12, 2021, at his home.

He was born Jan. 29, 1932, in Wyandotte, Okla., to Freeman and Louisa (Huckaby) Farmer. He married Marie Boyle on Jan. 11, 1952; they were married 69 years. He worked for Jones Tire Shop and Gates Corp.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Marie, of the home; his children, Kenny Farmer and wife Teresa of Gentry, and Charlotte Rotramel and husband Larry of Siloam Springs; grandsons, Brian Rotramel and wife Vanessa of Gentry, and Mark Rotramel and wife Carey of Siloam Springs; great-grandchildren William, Chandler, Windsor and Jonathan; sister, Gerri Carter of California and Nina Lowry of California.

Graveside services were Saturday, Jan. 16, at Falling Springs Cemetery, Decatur. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Harlan Keith Wheeldon

Harlan Keith Wheeldon, 68, of Gravette, died Jan. 10, 2021, at his home.

He was born Feb. 27, 1952, in Omaha, Neb., to Fred and Edna Wheeldon. He retired several years ago from Black and Decker. He was a Navy veteran and loved to work with his hands. He loved his family and his children and enjoyed John Wayne movies.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Keith Wheeldon; sister, Carol; brother, Freddy; grandmother, Myrtle Wigger; and sister-in-law, Iva Fletcher.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ida Wheeldon of Gravette; daughter, Kimberly Wheeldon and Amy Standoff of Topeka, Kan.; three sisters, Vivian, Shirley and Sheila of Missouri and Oklahoma; two brothers, Irvin and Steve of Omaha.

A celebration of Harlan's life was held at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 15, at Bethel Cemetery in Gravette. Arrangements were by Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, Bella Vista.
