GRAVETTE -- Ozarks Community Hospital welcomed Maria Baldasare, M.D., FACC, one of two female cardiologists in Northwest Arkansas, to the Gravette community.

An industry leader in interventional cardiology, Baldasare recently completed her 100th successful Watchman Implant, the most in Northwest Arkansas. The implant is a minimally invasive, one-time procedure designed to reduce the risk of strokes and provide a safe alternative to blood thinners.

"I have been performing the Watchman Procedure ever since my training when I was a part of the original clinic trials. This procedure is FDA approved and it is a great evolution of technology for our patients who have atrial fibrillation and are on blood thinners," Baldasare explained.

Baldasare offers cardiology services and preventive care to patients of all ages. She currently sees patients at the Specialty Clinic located on the second floor of Ozarks Community Hospital every fourth Tuesday of the month.

"I'm in the Gravette community to provide care to people who might not be able to go to one of the bigger hospitals," Baldasare said. "If you see your primary care provider for acute cardiac issues, they can now refer you right here in Gravette."

Baldasare is accepting new patients. Ozarks Community Hospital takes all insurances and self-pay patients. You can call the OCH Specialty Clinic at 479-344-6870 to schedule an appointment with Dr. Maria Baldasare today.
