GENTRY -- The baseball season for the Pioneers came to a close on April 27 when the Gentry team suffered an 11-1 loss in the opening game of the district tournament against Harrison.

Harrison scored single runs in the first three innings, four in the fourth, one in the fifth and three more in the sixth to end the Pioneers' hopes of advancing in the district tournament.

Gentry's only run came in the top of the sixth when Riggs Harper walked and, with two outs in the inning, was advanced to third on hits by Isaiah Lemke and Crafton Beeler and made it home on a hard-hit ground ball by Cody Tucker and a Harrison error.

Gentry had four hits in the game. Beeler led Gentry with two hits in three at-bats.

Lemke took the loss for the Pioneers, allowing eight hits and seven runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out one. He was relieved by Isaak Crittenden, who threw for two innings and allowed four runs on four hits and struck out two.
