GRAVETTE -- Members of the Gravette Gleamers 4-H Club have had a busy year. Club members have put in 722.5 service hours in various projects they have participated in since January.

Several projects have been designed to help feed the hungry in the area. Canned food was collected for various food pantries during a countywide drive, meals were provided for residents at Ronald McDonald House, and tuna pouches were collected for Samaritan House in Rogers. Snacks were donated to members of the Gravette Police Department and the Gravette Fire Department.

Even the animals were not forgotten as food and pet care supplies were donated to animal shelters in Gravette, Bella Vista, and Centerton.

Other projects included collecting school supplies that were donated to United Way, donating books to little free libraries in the area, collecting change that was donated to the Children's Shelter, and cleaning up around members' homes and at the Hiwasse Park on Earth Day.

Other community service projects which are upcoming soon will be collecting items to fill Samaritan's Purse Christmas Shoeboxes and care packages for military service personnel and collecting toys for donation to children during the holidays.

In addition to all the hours devoted to service projects, several members showed animals and made items to exhibit at the Benton County Fair.
