GRAVETTE -- Responses are being sought through a community survey as part of Gravette's comprehensive plan update. An online survey was ongoing during November and December 2022 and now, in January, area residents have a chance to share their vision for Gravette, interact with maps showing the city's master street plan and land use plan, and comment on ideas for Gravette's future. The link to complete the survey is https://arcg.is/OS4KPn.

Officials from Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning have pointed out that a comprehensive plan serves as a statement of policy for directing orderly growth and development. It is intended to guide the decisions of the planning commission and city council. Citizens and business interests may look at the plan as a vision for the city. Their input will add value to the city's existing planning systems.

This survey is a means to engage the Gravette community and ensure its voice is heard. Input is being sought on such questions as "What types of development does Gravette need?" "What is your vision for Gravette?" "Where can Gravette improve?" "What would strengthen Gravette?" and "What should be highlighted in the comprehensive plan?"

Input from the survey will be analyzed and incorporated into the updated comprehensive plan. The planning commission will hold a public hearing in May 2023 and recommend the adoption of the updated plan. Then city council members will vote on the plan in June.

Anyone with questions about a city's comprehensive plan may contact Tim Conklin, assistant director of the Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission, at 479-751-7125, ext. 103. For information about Gravette's community input survey, call Mayor Kurt Maddox at Gravette City Hall, 479-787-5757.
