Pioneers overwhelmed by Huntsville Eagles

GENTRY -- The Pioneers couldn't keep pace with the visiting Eagles of Huntsville on Jan. 10 at Gentry High School, falling 63-27.

Huntsville took the lead early, scoring 20 points to Gentry's 11 in the first quarter on goals by Garret Jech, Jonathon Corter, and a trey by Addi Taylor. And though the Pioneers almost kept pace in the second quarter, the gap widened by 26 in the second half of the game as the Pioneers ran out of steam.

Gentry sophomore Garrett Jech was the high scorer for the Pioneers, with eight points in the game -- three goals in the first quarter and one more in the second. Corter was second in scoring with a field goal and three free throws. Hayden Henry, Addi Taylor and Kydon Lynch each had three. Gauge Thompson and Logan Heath each had two, and Dyllen Labitad added a free throw.
