Get to know your local Senior Activity Center

GRAVETTE -- The Billy V. Hall Senior Activity and Wellness Center is a nonprofit organization. We are partially federally- and partially state-funded. The remaining funding comes from donations and local fundraising.

We provide Meals on Wheels to seniors 60 years of age and older who have difficulty providing and preparing their own meals. Our service area includes Gravette, Decatur, Sulphur Springs, Hiwasse and Maysville areas. The mission of the program is to keep seniors in their homes as long as possible and avoid long-term healthcare by providing a daily welfare check and a meal that is equivalent to 1/3 of their daily caloric intake. Many of our seniors are alone and isolated; our meal delivery driver is the only person they see, and it is also sometimes the only meal they eat for the day.

We also provide a daily meal at the Senior Activity Center for those who are able to come in and eat in a social setting. It gives them an opportunity to socialize with others, as well as enjoy various activities, outings, wellness programs, intergenerational programs, entertainment and limited transportation. It is a source that keeps the seniors fit, active and involved in the community.

During the course of 2022, we served 39,126 meals. Currently, we have 104 seniors on our Meals on Wheels route.

If you are new to the area or have lived here all your life and have never come to the Senior Activity Center, come in and have lunch and see what we have to offer. We are located at 1870 Limekiln Road, just east of the Ozarks Community Hospital.

We would like to thank everyone for their continued support of our center and its programs.
