Lindy Lee/Special to the Eagle Observer Mike Eckels, longtime volunteer and assistant coach, was honored during the Decatur High School soccer appreciation picnic at Edmiston Park in Decatur Sunday afternoon. Eckels was honored for his commitment to the care of the players on both boys' and girls' soccer teams, making sure they have the equipment they need for each home and away contest.
