Friendly Neighbors celebrate 66th year

SULPHUR SPRINGS -- Friendly Neighbors of Sulphur Springs met on Thursday, March 7, for its regular monthly meeting and to celebrate its 66th anniversary as a community organization. The club's first meeting was held on March 5, 1958.

Members and guests enjoyed lunch and a special anniversary cake, followed by a presentation by Mayor Shane Weber regarding potential city projects for Sulphur Springs Park, a community endeavor typically supported by Friendly Neighbors.

Angela Stocksdale also shared plans regarding community activity related to the upcoming eclipse on April 8.

Officers were elected for the coming year.

Newly elected officers for Friendly Neighbors include Rhonda Baerwald, president; Lynn Howard, vice-president; Rhonda Barnett, treasurer; June Murray, secretary; and J.D. Wells, card chairman.
