GRAVETTE -- Patrons and guests at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center enjoyed a full day of activities on Friday, March 15. Breakfast was served from 8 to 9 a.m. and, shortly after breakfast, the day's featured musicians began to arrive. Members of the Prairie Roads Band entertained the group from 9:30 a.m. until lunchtime at 11:30 a.m. and several couples took to the dance floor during their performance.

Many of the guests were dressed in green as Center director Melissa Provence had declared it was "Wear Green Day." Tables were also topped with green tablecloths and each place setting was decorated with napkins featuring green, gold and white shamrocks and small black pots filled with "gold" coins, mints and greenery.

A special guest at the Center during the morning was 7-year-old Kynzlee Woods, 2024 Royal International Miss Arkansas. Kynzlee says she enjoys visiting the Center to eat, work out, and play Wii bowling with the seniors. She had also visited on Wednesday and helped serve dessert at lunchtime. She will represent Arkansas in a competition in Orlando, Florida, this summer and is raising money for the Center as one of her projects.

St. Patrick's Day lunch was served at 11:30 a.m., with potato soup and crackers, Rueben sandwiches, and Lucky You mint pie on the menu. Root beer floats were served as a special treat after lunch.

Several patrons lingered after lunch to play cards and Wii bowling until closing time.

The group plans to meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at Pop Allum Park to fly kites in celebration of the first day of spring.
