GRAVETTE -- Educators from Gravette High School and Gravette Middle School gathered recently at the Lion Learning Center for Universal Design for Learning (UDL) training. The session brought together general education and Special Services staff to study how small changes in classroom design can lead to better outcomes for every learner.

Gravette Schools has entered a three-year partnership with CAST, the national leader in UDL, to strengthen instructional practices across the district. Special Services is also collaborating with the Northwest Arkansas Education Service Cooperative to provide ongoing training and support for this initiative.

Special Education director Tyler Matlock said, "We are very excited at what the practices of UDL can do for our students in Gravette Schools. Finding ways to give more access to students of all levels of need in the general education classroom is the goal of our department and district. Partnering with CAST helps us to do just that."
