GRAVETTE — The City of Decatur has voted to approve issuance of $947,000 in water-sewer revenue bonds to finance design and construction corrections in their city’s new wastewater treatment plant. The action was taken by the City Council at a recent meeting.
The additional financing for the wastewater treatment plant, which wentonline last month, is necessary because a crack in the rock was allowing water from a nearby creek to leak into the pit dug for the new plant.
Engineers solved the issue by raising the plant from completely below ground to partially above, but the changes in the plans cost the city an additional $947,000.
ACT Achievement Test Registration Deadline Is This Thursday, Nov. 5
The registration deadline is November 5 for students who wish to take the ACT achievement which will be administered on Saturday, December 12
Cost of the test, without writing, is $32 or combined with the writing test $47. Students who qualify may apply for a fee waiver through their high school counselor.
