— I love my little town of Gentry, Ark. I moved from Atlanta, Ga., where there were seven different chicken restaurants within two miles of my condo. I was looking for small-town life with charm and the friendly atmosphere only found in these places. I hit pay dirt in my move to Northwest Arkansas.

However, here are some things I would like to see happen:

• I would love to see a black-top, asphalt path linking the town, park and the various neighborhoods of Gentry. This could be used for nature trails — projects for our local garden club — joggers, electric golf carts and weekend strolls. This may also come in handy the day the announcement is made that there are no more gasoline or petroleum products.

• I would also love to be able to use the train that traverses our town as a source of free electricity for the town — maybe a train pinwheel tunnel, or can the static electricity be made into useable power?

• And why not solar-operated, turn-ofthe-century-style streetlights, fruit trees in the park tended by the local 4-H Club which could have fundraisers making goodies from the fruits of their labor?

From a man with far too much time on his hands,

Michael Murphy
