Bulldog Days begin Thursday

— Parks and recreation members met in Veterans Park on Sept. 29 to make final plans for the Bulldog Day festival on Oct. 9 and 10 and the carnival on Oct. 8 through 11.

Committee members reported that 15-year-old country musician Meagan White will be providing entertainment from 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 10, following her performance at Gentry’s Octoberfest.

According to her Web site, www. meaganwhitesings. com, White has been singing since she was two and performing on stage since she was three. Music is her passion, and she has already won many awards including winning both the 2006 and 2007 Colgate Country Showdown in Fayetteville. Also added to the entertainment schedule for Bulldog Days is Bryce Bennett, Reigning Arkansas Princess. Bennett will perform from 5 to 6 p.m., on Oct. 9. Following is a schedule for the event: Thursday Evening — The Carnival will do a grand opening light show and be open for rides. Friday 10 a.m. — The Decatur High School band will play for the Bulldog Days opening ceremonies. Vendors will be open all day. 1 - 2:30 p.m. — The Decatur High School Dance Team will perform and elementary and middle school students will arrive for carnival rides. 3 p.m. through the evening — The Carnival will be open for rides. 5 - 6 p.m. — Nine-year-old Bryce Bennett, reigning Arkansas Princess to perform. Saturday 8 - 10 a.m. — Festival open and car show registration will begin. 10 a.m. — Dazzle’em Dance students will perform. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Car show and musical entertainment. 3 - 6 p.m. — Hispanic DJ. All day and evening — The carnival will be open for rides. Sunday 10 a.m. until closing — The carnival and vendors will be open. 5 - 8 p.m. — Hispanic DJ.
