— Lifeline of Northwest Arkansas has announced a new medical-alert service integrated into a cordless phone.

Lifeline of Northwest Arkansas, started in 1999, offers emergency assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

"Not only does the new Philips Lifeline Cordless Phone Communicator work with the Lifeline Help Button to provide a connection to Lifeline for help in an emergency, it also keeps clients connected to their friends and family," Executive Director Melanie Kettner said in a company news release.

"This new cordless phone communicator is designed to address many of the challenges seniors face, such as loss of dexterity, vision and hearing. It has large buttons, easy-to-read displays and clearer sound with a louder volume range, making it easier for seniors to hear their conversations.

"The Lifeline Cordless Phone also boasts several unique safety features. It allows Help Calls even if it is left off the hook. And it even works during a power outage, for a limited period of time.

"We are very excited to offer this innovative new phone because now our subscribers can have the peace of mind that comes with our leading medical-alert service, along with the convenience of an attractive cordless phone designed specifically around their needs."
