Jacy Alsup Wins Angus Awards

— Jacy Alsup, of Gravette, has earned the National Junior Angus Association’s (NJAA’s) Bronze and Silver awards, according to Robin Ruff, American Angus Association director of junior activities.

The 18-year-old daughter of Danny and Debbie Alsup is a senior at Gravette High School. She is a member of the NJAA and has served as princess and queen for her state. She is active in the show ring, participating in local, state and national shows and showmanship competitions. Alsup has participated in the NJAA quiz bowl, public speaking, photography and posterscontests as well as the All-American Certified Angus Beef Cook-Off.

The Bronze and Silver awards are the first two levels of the NJAA Recognition Program that began in 1972. Junior Angus breeders must apply for the awards, then meet point requirements in many areas of participation before receiving the honors. Applicants are evaluated in areas of junior Angus association activities and leadership, participation in showmanship, contests and shows, using performance testing to improve their herd and their progress in producing and merchan-
