Convenient-care clinic to open at Wal-Mart in Siloam Springs

— Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. in collaboration with Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, Community Physicians Group and Northwest Health System announced the Thursday opening of Siloam Springs’ newest offering in health care services - “The Clinic at Walmart.”

The convenient-care clinic will officially open at 10 a.m., April 29, in the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Siloam Springs, with a goal of providing fast, affordable access to basic health care services such as check-ups, immunizations, screenings and treatment of minor injuries and illnesses. The clinic will be open for walk-in service Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.;and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“This local collaboration of physicians, hospital and Wal-Mart takes us another step closer to ensuring the health and wellness of our community,” said Kevin Clement, chief executive officer of the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. “The clinic will be staffed with licensed health care providers, even on nights and weekends, so families can receive quality care when they need it.”

With the opening of this clinic, there will be 78 in-store clinics across 18 states.

Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital offers a 24-hour emergency department, obstetrics, inpatient and outpatient surgery, orthopedics, intensive care, mammography, diagnostic imaging, and a sleep center. SSMH has 275 employees and more than 32 physicians on its medical staff. In addition to hospital services, SSMH offers educational programs including childbirth education, diabetic support group, Better Breathers Club, and community health events.

Northwest Health System includes Northwest Medical Center - Springdale, Northwest Medical Center - Bentonville, Northwest Medical Center - Willow Creek Women’s Hospital and nearly thirty primary, urgent and specialty medical clinics and centers.The organization has a staff of 2,000 clinical and non-clinical professionals and a combined medical staff of over 450 physicians, representing a wide range of specialties and subspecialties.

Community Physicians Group is multispecialty, primary care physician group in Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma and has served the local community since 1998.
