Summer celebration planned at Gentry Farmers' Market

— The Gentry Farmers’ Market, located in the pavilion at 500 East Main Street in Gentry, will be hosting its second summer celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Beginning Saturday, all vendors at the Farmers’ Market will start accepting EBT, debit and credit cards, thanks to a generous grant from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture.Most market vendors also accept Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Vouchers and WIC Nutrition Vouchers.

Anyone making a purchase at the Gentry Farmers’ Market this Saturday will receive a ticket for a free lunch, courtesy of the Wild Wilderness Safari and the Chicken Coop Flea Market.

Lunch will be burgers or brats, homemade potato salad and cucumber-tomato salad, all made with fresh produce from local farmers. Drinks will be available for purchase. Lunch will be served at noon and will be first-come-first-served.

Attendees will enjoy animals from the Wild Wilderness Safari, activities for the kids, live local music, and the unique entertainment of Mr. Crispy, fire breather.

Community members will also be able to pick up valuable coupons from the Safari. Kids can take a turn trying to sink volunteers at the dunk tank.
