Recently Vern and Gloria Laughlin and Edna Jordan went to the family get-together of Vern’s brothers and sisters. All were able to come except his sister in Springfield and a brother from Kansas. Everyone had a good time. After a trip to Texas to see the girls and another family get-together Gloria says she is going to be home for awhile.
On Sunday, July 11, Lisa Spears, Jennifer Choate, Darrin, Christi, Matt and Hollyann Phillips and friends Kelsey and Bailey had Sunday lunch with Howard and Cathleen Spears. They had fresh vegetables from the garden along with fresh blackberry cobbler with ice cream. After lunchChristi, Lisa and Jennifer picked some blackberries and vegetables from the garden to take home.
Austin McVay spent the night with her Memaw (me) on Friday the 9th.She got to help me pick blackberries and had a great time playing with the girls.
On Saturday the 17th Mt. Pleasant hosted a “Kids Day”. We didn’t have as many as last year but we all had a great time with Bible study, games and arts and crafts. After class the White Mouse Puppets put on a fantastic program. If you haven’t had a chance to see their show you are missing a real treat.
On Sunday afternoon Betty Pollreis, daughter Kimberly and children Emabeth and Jadon spent a couple of hours visiting with Linda Sanders, Darlene and Louise. The kids spent their time in the pool while Betty, Kim and Ihad a good visit.
Everyone watch yourself while working outside this week. Be sure to drink lots of water.
