Quilt show deemed success

— The winners for this fall’s Chamber of Commerce Quilt Show in Gentry were: Best of Show - Eiko Roby, Siloam Springs; Best Hand Quilted - Nancy Quam, Decatur; Best Machine Quilted - David Moran, Springdale; Best Children's Quilt - Shirley Philpott, Gentry; Honorable Mention Machine Quilted - Mary Pumphrey, Bella Vista; Honorable Mention Children's Quilt - Martha Brigance, Gentry; and Viewer's Choice - Sue Etris, Decatur.

Quilt show organizer Janie Parks expressed her thanks to every one whohelped make the 2011 Chamber of Commerce Quilt Show a big success again this year.

“We have 100s of visitors from all over come to see the beautiful work of our quilters,” Parks said. “I would especially like to thank McKee Foods for its sponsorship of our show, and the Gentry Library volunteers who were very helpful during the show.”

Parks also expressed her thanks to Rick Martin, Janice Arnold, Kevin Johnston, JoEllen Martin, Bev Saunders, Jim Twiggs and Mike Parks, for their assistance.

“Without the sponsors and volunteers, this year’s show would not be a success,” Parks said.
