Lalah Curran

Lalah Juanita Dorsey Curran, 86, died Feb. 26, 2012, in Fayetteville.

She was born on March 4, 1925, in Lowell, to Ephram “Dean” and Lillie Alma Dorsey. She married Billy Gene Curran on Sept. 5, 1942. She lived in the Cave Springs area for 69 years and was devoted to being a mother and housewife. She enjoyed painting, flowers and nature. She was a Christian.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years; three daughters, Jeanette Sizemore and husband Jerry of Bentonville, Deloris Crawford and husband James of Conway, Diana Lynn Whorton and husband Mike of Siloam Springs; one son, Billy Raymond Curran and wife Gail of Gentry; 19 grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at New Hope Assembly of God in Rogers, with James Longmate and Brian Whorton officiating. Burial will be in Douglas Cemetery near Highfill.

Arrangements are by Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.

Lucile Galyean

Lucile Mae Galyean, 73, of Gravette, died Feb. 22, 2012.

She was born in Yakima, Wash., on Sept. 1, 1938, to Paul and Martha Kreinke. While serving in the United States Marine Corps, she married Bobby Galyean, her husband of 53 years.

She is survived by her husband; one son, Tim and his wife, Peggy Galyean, of Gravette; two daughters, Brenda Galyean of Gravette and Carla Eggebrecht of Bentonville; and her sister, Jeri Andring of Yakima, Wash; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life was held Feb. 25 at Heritage Baptist Church in Gravette. A graveside service followed at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Harold Haughn

Harold Issac Haughn, 81, of Bentonville, died Feb. 24, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale.

He was born Nov. 20, 1930, in Elizabeth, to Roy Otto Haughn and Reable Marchant Haughn. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, reading westerns and was a master story teller. He was a “Jack of all trades” and was called “Grandpa Hero” because he could fix anything.

He was preceded in death in 2004 by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Simpson Haughn; his parents; one daughter, Anita Mahurin; and his brother, Hayden Haughn.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Haughn and wife Deanna of Gravette, Joe Haughn and wife Kim of Bella Vista; son in-law, Leslie Mahurin and wife Peggy; three daughters, Cheryl Amos and husband Lester of Decatur, Melissa Reckenbecker and husband Tom of Bella Vista, Amy Markum and husband Doug of Rogers; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at Falling Springs Church in Decatur with Will Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Falling SpringsCemetery. Arrangements are by Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.

Howard Presley

Howard Lee Presley, 68, of Rogers, died Feb. 21, 2012, in Springdale.

He was born Oct. 24, 1943, in Pineville, Mo., the son of Coy Lee and Gladys Boling Presley. He formerly lived in the Hiwasse area. He retired as supervisor for Emerson Electric and attended Saving Grace Church.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Presley.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Abercrombie Presley, of the home, whom he married March 13, 1964; one son, Rocky Presley and wife Christy of Branson, Mo.; one daughter, Janey Drace and husband Bob of St. Louis, Mo; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were Feb. 25 at Benton County Funeral Home with John Patton officiating. Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Hiwasse.

Tennie Ratledge

Tennie C. Ratledge, 47, of Decatur, died Feb. 23, 2012, in Bentonville.

She was born Nov. 22, 1964, in Fort Smith, to Arthur Elie and Connie Beals Skaggs. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her mother andtwo grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Charles Ratledge of the home; sons Michael, Jon and Charles Ratledge; her father, Arthur Skaggs; brothers, Terry, Logan, Tim and Casey Skaggs; sisters, Audrey Siewell, Julie Goodman and JoCassia Vela, all of the Decatur area; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Benton County Funeral Home, Rogers.

Glenna Swank

Glenna Rose Shanklin Swank, 63, of Gravette, died Feb. 22, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville after a lengthy illness.

She was born Nov. 29, 1948, in Gravette to Morris Richard Shanklin and Pauline Rose Hepler Shanklin. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Gravette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Swank, and her parents.

She is survived by four sisters, Lula Hook of Georgetown, S.C., Lela Hoke of Conover, N.C., Stella Labounty of Gravette and Carrol Hammers of Gravette.

Funeral services were Feb. 24 at Bella Vista Funeral Home with Ernest Lastovica officiating. Burial was at Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Hiwasse.
